I made this for Taunya over at Daisies Girl to thank her. I joined her Happy Mail For followers Readers and received this wonderful birthday surprise. I think that these are Paper Temptress papers I tend to hoard these because the papers are quite heavy duty and very easy to work with.

 

My sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Happy Thanksgiving set.

The rose and acrylic glass are from my stash of things I picked up at the last Great Lakes Mega Meet I attended. The jewels are from Imaginisce and the twine is from my stash.

I sprayed the background paper with my eBrush to add a touch of color. I used pinks and blues. I also embossed it using my eBosser and the Quatrafoil folder.

 

The green paper is embossed with the Delicate Dots folder, I used foam dots to adhere it to the card face.

 

I quilled the flower and butterfly, I used white paper for the flower and sprayed it with my eBrush.

 

The sentiment was also eBrushed.

 

The washi tape is from my kids in Tokyo

We got to play with Paper Temptress papers this week, the papers are all beautiful. I had so much fun that I made two projects.

For my first one I used the package of papers sent to me by Paper Temptress. The paper has a beautiful shimmer to it, you can see it on the tree. It also embosses beautifully. The ribbon is two sided (at least it appears to be to me), it is thick heavy duty and very easy to work with.

I freehand cut the card, it is 5 1/2" tall x 4 1/4" wide when folded. The tree is a Cuttlebug die, the star and ornaments are from the same die and embossed with the matching Cuttlebug folder. The white background is embossed using my snowflake Cuttlebug folder. Tree and sentiment are adhered with foam pads.

Tree - Emerald Mica/Metallic
Green ornaments and green layer under sentiment - Jelly Bean Green Pop Tones 100#
Cream ornaments - Candido Incandescent
Sentiment stamped onto - Opal Mica/Metallic I used Peeled Paint Ranger Distress Ink to stamp the sentiment.
Star - Gold Metallic
Ribbon - also from Paper Temptress - Green/Red Ladder Ribbon

This paper is wonderful for stamping and embossing.

For my second card I used some papers that a friend had sent me. I cut and embossed the ornament with the same Cuttlebug folder and die set. I wrapped ribbon around the middle of the card using the reverse side from the card above then made a little bow using the reverse side of the ribbon.

The base is a 5 1/2" wide x 4 1/4" when folded cut from a piece of White Wide Columns. You can see and feel the columns.

I made this for my friend Dawn from: Designs By Dragonfly I met Dawn over on the Cricut Blog, we were both doing projects for the Extreme Fonts contest. Dawn encouraged me to start a blog and guided me through the process. We always comment on each other's new projects in bloggy land. If Dawn hadn't encouraged me, I would still be stuck on the Cricut Blog doing not much of anything, I have learned a whole lot since starting my own blog and will always be grateful to Dawn for her help and encouragement. I had a lot of fun with this week's challenge, I did all forms of embossing, dry, wet and stylus. The Paper Temptress papers are so beautiful, I love working with them.

 

Yellow paper was dry embossed using my eBosser and Delicate Dots folder.

Sentiment was wet embossed using Versa Ink and red embossing powder. I did this on the Paper Temptress Silk Silver Luster paper.

I pulled out my Fiskar's ScrapBoss and embossed the red paper with my stylus. The butterfly was cut using my Cuttlebug and embossed with my eBosser.
