I cut the cactus with Cricut's Southwest cartridge. I used fuchsia Stickles to make the, "flowers".

I used alphabet stickers to add, "Teacher" which I got from Connie's Crafty Cart.

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Hop - Challenge #5

Today is the last day of Connie Can Crop Cyber Hop Challenge #5. I just finished yesterday's project which called for some kind of fruit.

My prickly pear cactus is the inspiration for my layout. I found this little cactus growing in our back yard a few years ago and decided to plant it and see what happened.

It has grown quite a bit since I planted it but it never flowered until this year.

After the flower comes the fruit. Most people don't know that you can cook and eat the leaves and fruits. I don't have any pictures of prickly pear fruits so I found this one online.

Prickly pears come in different colors and I assume that the fruit is the same color as the flower so I should get yellow fruits from my cactus.

The cactus cut is from Cricut's, "Southwest" cartridge, the fruits are actually an egg cut from the, "Easter 2010" cartridge and the font is from, "Cricut Alphabet". I added some dots to the fruits to make them look as much like prickly pear fruit as I could.

I am entering this layout in this challenge:

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Crop - Birds & Bees

Today is day 5 of Connie Can Crop's Cyber Crop and I just finished my project for day 4, the theme is:

You need to make a project that features birds and/or bees. My card has both.

The stamp set I used came from Plum Purdy.com. First I stamped my image using my We R Memory Keepers Precision Press. The tiny stamps came from a really old set in my stash, I can't remember who made them.

I colored the image using color pencils then I layered it onto a scrap of dark blue and choose a scrap of stripped paper to use for my card base.

Please stop by Connie Can Crop and join in the fun.

I will be entering this card into this challenge:

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Crop - Challenge #2

I was very busy yesterday and wasn't able to get to yesterday's Connie Can Crop - Cyber Hop - Challenge #2 which was,

For this challenge you need to make a project with a tree as the center of attention. Here is mine.

I cut this card with Cricut's, "Life is a Beach" cartridge using the palm tree square card. I cut the card at 5" and the tree toppers at 3.75 and they fit perfect.

Sentiment is from the same cartridge. Before cutting the letters I first used a Cricut pen instead of the blade and it outlined all of the letters then I put the blade back in and cut them out.

I am entering this card into this challenge:

Connie Can Crop - Instiration Challenge # 58

Our sponsor for this month's challenge over at Connie Can Crop is Connie!! Connie is a Close To My Heart consultant and she is offering a large stamp set as a prize for this month's challenge.

Inspiration Picture

I am using supplies that Connie sent to me from her store: Connie's Crafty Cart.

I was inspired by the blue sky, green grass and flowers.

I used my Gelli plate to create the background, I used 2 different blue paints on the plate, when the paint dried I used a background stamp and StazOn Jet Black ink to stamp the flowers. I also added a piece of green and blue checked ribbon from my stash.

Here is a close up of the background.

The lettering and green paper are some of the goodies from Connie's store.

I never seem to have a, "Thank You" card when I need one so I am trying to build up a few.

Please come and join in on the fun!!
