Connie Can Crop - Cyber Hop - Challenge #5

Today is the last day of Connie Can Crop Cyber Hop Challenge #5. I just finished yesterday's project which called for some kind of fruit.

My prickly pear cactus is the inspiration for my layout. I found this little cactus growing in our back yard a few years ago and decided to plant it and see what happened.

It has grown quite a bit since I planted it but it never flowered until this year.

After the flower comes the fruit. Most people don't know that you can cook and eat the leaves and fruits. I don't have any pictures of prickly pear fruits so I found this one online.

Prickly pears come in different colors and I assume that the fruit is the same color as the flower so I should get yellow fruits from my cactus.

The cactus cut is from Cricut's, "Southwest" cartridge, the fruits are actually an egg cut from the, "Easter 2010" cartridge and the font is from, "Cricut Alphabet". I added some dots to the fruits to make them look as much like prickly pear fruit as I could.

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Crop - Birds & Bees

Today is day 5 of Connie Can Crop's Cyber Crop and I just finished my project for day 4, the theme is:

You need to make a project that features birds and/or bees. My card has both.

The stamp set I used came from Plum Purdy.com. First I stamped my image using my We R Memory Keepers Precision Press. The tiny stamps came from a really old set in my stash, I can't remember who made them.

I colored the image using color pencils then I layered it onto a scrap of dark blue and choose a scrap of stripped paper to use for my card base.

Please stop by Connie Can Crop and join in the fun.

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Crop - Challenge #3

I'm still running a day behind on getting my projects done for Connie Can Crop - Cyber Hop - Challenge #3 but I really am trying to catch up.

Yesterday's challenge was all about sunshine and a sketch.

Here is what I created:

We tend to have a lot of rainbows during the monsoon season here in Arizona and I just love catching them with my camera. Back in Michigan by the time you get the words, "there's a rainbow" out of your mouth it has disappeared but here they are really BIG and tend to last for a while. It is hard to see but the picture on the left has a double rainbows.

All of the cuts are from Cricut's, "Create A Critter" cartridge. I added some googley eyes to the sun and a few jewel, "rain drops".

Please come on over and join in the fun.

Connie Can Crop - Cyber Crop - Challenge #1

We're having a Spring Fling Cyber Crop over at Connie Can Crop. For the next 5 days there will be games to play and challenges to do.

Today's challenge is to Create a project that has something jumping off the page.
Example: Action wobble, Foam Tape, Pop Dots, 3D Fold

I used Cricut's, "Walk in my Garden" cartridge to create this card. First I put the entire card base on my mat and drew the flowers using my Cricut pens. I did not cut the flowers out, I just drew them onto the card base. I also drew on the shadow for the sentiment using Cricut's, "Cricut Font and Basic Shapes" cartridge.

Then I drew the flowers onto pink cardstock and cut them out. I layered the flowers and adhered them to the card base with foam pads.

After drawing the sentiment onto some patterned paper I cut it out and attached it to the card base with foam pads.

The butterfly is from a Hero Arts stamp and cut set. After stamping and cutting it out I attached it to the card face with glue then I popped one of the wings up.

The grass is from Cricut's, "Ribbons and Rosettes" cartridge.
