I cut the cactus with Cricut's Southwest cartridge. I used fuchsia Stickles to make the, "flowers".

Fabrika Fantasy Challenge #7 - For the Grils

I am so excited, today is my first post for a new design team, I am now on the Fabrika Fantasy Challenge Design Team. Please come and join in the fun. This month's theme is, "For the Girls".

I used Fairy Tale Princess to work with.

My card base measures 5.5 inches wide x 6.25 inches tall. The image and it's 2 additional layers were cut from scraps, I used a border punch to add the border on the bottom.

I used colored pencils to color my image and I stamped the sentiment directly onto the image after coloring and cutting it out. I added a jewel to her crown and Stickles on her dress.

Shadow Box - Witch House

If you are looking for my HIMCR Super Scraps Saturday project, please click here.

I had been looking for an inexpensive shadow box to play with, I spotted this one on clearance at Jo Ann's for $4.98 so I picked it up and had been staring at it for a few weeks before getting started.

It proved to be impossible to get a picture without the shadows in the corners. This wasn't the perfect shadow box, I wanted something smaller but this worked well.

I used up a lot of scraps which is always good. First I painted the box inside and out. I covered the entire box with white gesso then a layer of black chalk paint. I went with a dark purple on the outside and a few different colors on the inside. After it was all dry I sanded and sanded and sanded to get a totally distressed look all over.

I used a few Cricut cuts from October 31, Happy Hauntings, Create a Critter and Paper Doll Dress Up.

I took this picture from a different angle, sitting on the ground instead on top of my air conditioner unit. Living in Arizona we don't need grass, we have rocks out front and sand out back.

The poor witch had to rent out a room to make ends meet so Dracula moved in, he is sleeping right now but he is my, "monster" and the coffin is 3D.

The sentiments and buttons are from Plum Purdy I also painted the buttons.

The house also has an evil pumpkin and LOTs and LOTS of spiders and bats.

The frog in the boot stamp is also from Plum Purdy. The small jars are from a set of miniature precious stones that I have had for several years, I finally found a home for some of them. I added some stickles to the witch boot.

Can you see the frog trying to jump out of the fire? I added some stickles to the pot.

The witch's broom is also a Plum Purdy stamp. After coloring the stamp and fussy cutting it out I added some DecoArt Craft Twinkles, glitter paint is the best way to describe it.

hidinginmycraftroom.com

We will have two winners!

The giveaway is A Robot Party Cricut Cartridge or A Space Party Cricut Cartridge!

I used up a few more scraps on this, the card base and layers are all made from scraps. I used my wavy blade in my paper trimmer to trim them to the correct size.
The ribbon and twine are also scraps. I added some gold Stickles to the center of my Queen and Co. flowers, Queen and Co. beads to the ribbon and a stick pin from my stash.
I cut the envelope with my brand new Envelope Punch Board from WRMK that I won from: Daisies Girl I can't believe how easy the board is to use, it only takes a couple of minutes to whip up a custom envelope.

HIMCR #202 - Summer Colors

HIMCR #202 - Summer Colors! (June 6th)

The sponsor is Sami Stamps!

The giveaway is a $12 Gift Certificate to Sami Stamps!

In my mind nothing can beat the clear blue summer skies especially here in Arizona where the skies are totally clear, we can go for days without seeing a single cloud.

I thought this bubble fairy was really cute and blue fairies are the best. I printed her then colored her with colored pencils and added some Accent Essentials to the bubble, "highlight" areas and to her wings then I sprinkled some blue glitter on her wings. I also added some blue and white stickles to fill in some of the area between the bubbles. Here is a bit closer look at the shaker that I filled with blue and white beads plus a few blue and silver sequins.

After making the shaker element I cut a piece of watercolor paper to fit my pre-made card base. I colored the paper with my eBrush then used a damp paint brush to spread the color around then I added some circles using a stamp from My Creative Time with blue ink.
After wrapping a ribbon around the folded edge I added a crystal flower and some silver sequins.

HIMCR #199 - Button Up!

Sponsor - Pickled Potpourri

Prize is $7.00 Pickled Potpourri Gift Certificate

Make sure to add buttons to your project.

The giveaway is $7 Gift Certificate from Pickled Potpourri!

I was able to get a few scraps out of my stacks and stacks of scraps. I colored the image with colored pencils, added some orange stickles and black Glazed Dimensions. The buttons are from my wooden buttons stash so is the twine. The sentiment is computer generated, printed on vellum and backed with a scrap of cream cardstock. The edges are inked with Peeled Paint by Tom Holtz. I added an Action Wobble behind the snail.

I colored the image with chalk, more scraps from my piles, buttons and ribbon from my stash. I did a mix and match with the sentiment, it is from a different set. This paper is double sided, the red stripes are on the flip side of the blue with red and white flowers.
