Now for my project.

I call this my, "Bottle of Cheer". I started with an empty Triple Sec bottle and painted it. The first step to painting glass is to give it a good coat of Paint Adhesion Medium first. I have not been able to find this item locally, I got it from Plum Purdy.  It is listed under the "sealers and mediums" link. The best way to apply it is with a sponge.

I also used a sponge to apply the paint in a variety of different colors.

The stamped, "centers" of my flowers are from Unity Stamp Co., their, "feel better soon" kit. After stamping my sentiments I cut them out using my Spellbinder's circle and scalloped circle dies. I also cut the other layers of the, "flowers" using bigger scalloped circle dies. The papers are Japanese craft papers that my kids brought me. I used wooden skewers painted green for my, "stems". Added a die cut butterfly and a bow to finish it off.

 Up next is Ashley.

Upcycled - Repurposed

The other day I emptied the little bucket that my dishwasher detergent pods come in and decided to try to upcycle it.

I have been trying to find a better way to store my ink refills that looked better than this:

Can you see the little buggers sticking their heads out of the drawer?

The labels on the container are printed directly onto the plastic bucket and the only way to remove the handle is to cut it off and have no handle so I decided to work around the handle by incorporating the color of the handle in my paint and ribbon. I was able to fit more than just my ink refills in, a couple of stamp sets that I was having trouble fitting in anywhere as well as a couple of small cans of spray paint.

I started by giving the bucket surface a coat of Paint Adhesion Medium. Then I sponged two different browns, orange and yellow paints onto the bucket. The green dots were added using a Q-tip. After coating with 2 coats of Mod Podge, I cut the lettering out of vinyl with my Cricut and the Cricut Font and Basic Shapes cartridge. First I went around the outside with a brown Cricut pen then I cut the letters out.

My bucket is now full and a once messy corner of my craft room is a bit neater thanks to this little bucket.

Why did I put the orange rick rack over my green ribbon? Because I didn't have a wide enough ribbon of any color so I ran the green around the top twice and used the rick rack to cover the seam. I used some hemp rope around the upper edge.

I am entering this project into this challenge:

PDE Linky Party - May 2016

I can't believe how fast my time on the PDE Linky Party  design team has gone, it must be my age the older I get the faster time seems to fly.

As usual this week's challenge is Anything Goes.

I have really been enjoying painting decorative birdhouses.

After adding 2 coats of Gesso I painted the roof and bottom 2 coats of yellow and the house itself with 2 coats of orange.

The crows are from Plum Purdy.

Please come and join in the fun over at PDE Linky Party.

PDE Linky Party 3-18-16

Hi, it is time for another PDE Linky Party
where all of the challenges will ALWAYS BE ANYTHING GOES. You know what that means?!

If you....made it, stamped it, die cut it, paper pieced it, scrapbooked it, refurbished it, restored it, remodeled it, crocheted it, quilted it, sewed it, painted it.....it all counts! And you have unlimited entries.

I decided to play with a wood birdhouse I picked up at Jo Ann's a while back. Here it is with a couple of coats of gesso on it and my color choices. I went with the coral on the bottom.

When I finished the painting I moved on to the roof.  I started with a scalloped stencil I received from my BFF Renee over at: Plum Purdy

With Silhouette's software it is very easy to replicate the item you are working with so I only had to come up with 1 scallop. I put it on a piece of Rhoida dot paper, scanned it and brought the scanned image into my Silhouette software. I ran the pieces through my eBosser using my Delicate Dots embossing folder. Then I proceeded to shingle my roof.

The birds are cut from vinyl and the grass is cardstock from my stash.

Please come and join in the fun over at PDE Linky Party.

Silhouette Challenges

I can't believe that this is already my 3rd post for Silhouette Challenges, where has the time gone?

I picked up this wood birdhouse at Jo Ann's a trip or two ago. Can you tell that I am in the mood for spring and that my favorite color is blue?

After applying 2 coats of Gesso I painted the roof and bottom in a light blue and the main part of the house in a dark blue. I added the white dots by using a stencil and a stylus.

The white on the roof was cut using my Cameo and a file from the Cameo store, it is cut out of white vinyl. I think that it made a quick, easy, cute roof.

PDE Linky Party

It is time for another anything goes challenge over at PDE Linky Party since Valentine's Day is right around the corner I had a chance to play with the little wooden box I picked up at Jo Ann's a while back. It was only $1.00, I love bargains like this.

The first thing I did was remove the hinges and clasp. I had to use a tiny screwdriver from an eyeglass repair kit.

After a quick sanding I was ready to start painting. I put 2 coats of gesso on before the pink.

All of the hearts are cut from various Cricut cartridges from vinyl. After adding the hearts I put on two coats of Mod Podge and reassembled the box.

Come on over to PDE Linky Party and join the fun, where the challenges are always Anything Goes, Projects can be anything - 3D, Tags, Cards, Scrapbooking, Wall Décor, Framed Art, Mini Albums, crochet, decorations, invitations, banners, paintings,.... anything at all that you created.

Ewe-N-Me Printables Halloween Cards

Hang tags are so versatile and jars are really popular right now for crafting so when I saw these hang tags with jars on them I couldn't resist the temptation to play with them.

These are perfect for Halloween cards.

After printing my files I cut them out and went to work.  I put some twine around the lids and added some googley eyes to the pumpkin, the die cut pumpkin and spider are extra cuts from previous projects. A couple of crow buttons that I painted with black chalk paint and added some eyes to.

More leftover cuts from previous projects plus a couple of black jewels.

I added some star buttons on this one that I painted with black chalk paint then added some craft twinkles to.

All of the sentiments and buttons are from Plum Purdy.com

I cut the banners from papers I had leftover from cutting out the cards.
