Sunrise Wedding

My other half's daughter is getting married in a sunrise ceremony on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean. I hope that she likes the card I designed.

I found the sunrise picture online, printed it out and made a frame using DCWV'S Mercury Glass stack. One of those things, saw the stack and had to have it even without a project and I'm glad I did, it was perfect for the frame.

It was hard to get a good picture of the card due to the brightness of the sun.

DCWV April Stack-A-Holic Sample

I saw a facebook post from DCWV asking for volunteers to make samples for their April Stack-A-Holic challenge. Always looking for a challenge I raised my hand and was one of the lucky ones to be chosen.

I used their Coral Couture stack.

Here is the sketch we had to follow:

And here is my take on the sketch:

HIMCR #212c - Happy Birthday

HIMCR #212c - Happy Anniversary/Happy Birthday

Third Challenge of the Blogiversary Celebration!!!

The sponsor is Graciellie Design!

The giveaway is a digital stamp set!!

We have a new sponsor for this challenge: Graciellie Design Gracie is a former HIMCR DT member and a very talented lady.

I used two of the images and the sentiment from Gracie's Birthday Wishes digital set.

I put a stamp on a postcard and printed the postmark image right on to the postcard. I also printed the blank butterfly image and sentiment right onto the postcard at the same time I printed the postmark. Then I colored my butterfly using my favorite blues.

I layered this onto a scrap of red cardstock with a strip of blue cardstock, this was all layered onto a piece of DCWV paper from my stash and I added some sequins and a piece of twine.

First of the Blogiversary Celebration!!!

The giveaway is A Space Party Cartridge!
This is the first of 3 postings I have for today, when this goes live on blogger I will have just returned from a two week trip to visit my BFF Renee from: Plum Purdy.com  Renee and I have known each other for more years than we want to think about.
Renee has a booth at the: HOOT she does some amazing tole painting patterns, cutouts, etc. She has always been a very talented artist even when we were youngsters in school. I will be assisting Renee as much as I can at the Hoot.

I'm not really into this new journal craze that has hit the paper crafting world but decided that it would be a good idea to have one along for my trip.

All of the papers except for the solid colors are from DCWV's La Boutique Vintage Stack. Most of the icons are from Cricut's Pack Your Bags Cartridge.

I cut the tabbed dividers with Cricut's From My Kitchen Cartridge, the butterfly on this page is from Zva Creative.

I have lined papers to make memorable notes on and small envelopes from my stash to put small mementos into. I have also added some decorative paper clips but not sure if I'll take them on the plane or not.

This icon is from Cricut's Southwest Cartridge.

I will be flying from Vegas to North Carolina on 7-31 then on 8-3 Renee and I will be driving from South Carolina to Columbus, Ohio. For as many years as we have known each other, this will be our very first road trip together.

This section will be from the time we are at the HOOT, the letters are from the same stack, I backed them with some black to help them to stand out on the page.

This icon is from Cricut's Disney Tinkerbell and Friends Cartridge, I added a couple of Imaginisce jewels to it and left room to put one of the many pictures I hope to take of Renee and I during the trip under the icon. This section is for the time we will be spending together at Renee's house after the HOOT.

I HATE to fly, I'm TERRIFIED of flying so any flight is a long one.

Here is the back cover. I used my Cinch to bind the journal and added some ribbons and charms to the wire to dress it up a bit.

HIMCR #201 - FREESTYLE!!!

Here's the post to add your images for HIMCR #201 - Freestyle!

The sponsor is Freckled Fawn!

The giveaway is .....

I don't have anything that Freckled Fawn carries so I just pulled some items from my stash and went to work.

The stamp is from www.plumpurdy.com I stamped the image onto a scrap of watercolor paper with StazOn black ink then I colored it with colored pencils and brushed it all down with a wet paint brush.
The papers are from DCWV, the piece that shadows the image is the flip side of the card face.
The sentiment is computer generated, printed onto a piece of vellum then backed with a piece of the blue shadow scrap.
Both the image and sentiment are mounted on foam pads.
After adding the rickrack, I topped it with the wooden butterfly I colored with a Spectrum Noir marker. I added a blue jewel to the middle of the butterfly.
I chomped the corners and added some Imaginisce jewels.

Spring Tea

Spring has sprung so it is time for a tea party to celebrate. I collect teaware, most of mine is from England, the set I have used here is from Royal Standard and manufactured sometime after 1949, was purchased by an American GI and brought home for his wife. I have the original receipt, the buyer paid 9 pounds for it.

This week I decided to go with this adorable tea bag printable Hello Spring

This little chick looks like he is already for springtime. You get 2 tea envelopes on the sheet and can print them as many times as you like. It can also be used for Easter.

All of my papers are scraps from the DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack. The card measures 6" x 6", I cut a banner and ran it through the paper crimper my BFF sent me this past week. Thank you Renee.

The scalloped circles are the 2 largest in the Spellbinders set. After gluing the circle layers together I also crimped them.

Cut out my tea bag envelope and assembled it (a few folds) and attached it on top of the circles. I added a piece of twine to the side.

Besides my Granddaughter, having tea with my tea friend Kare at some of Michigan's finest tea rooms is something that I really, really miss from Michigan. We used to try to get together once a month if possible to enjoy afternoon tea, at times I would bring my Granddaughter along. When my son and his gal came to the US to get married, afternoon tea was a must at my favorite spot, Thyme Well Spent Tearoom .

I'm the blonde, Miki the bride is wearing the hat and my Baby Girl Rachael. Not a very good picture but a wonderful time was had by all. Kare was ill and couldn't join us for the day but she did make it for the wedding.

Thank you for stopping by and joining me for a trip down memory lane.

HIMCR #193 - DCWV and Any Holiday

HIMCR #193 - DCWV and Any Holiday

This week's challenge is Any Holiday, the DT also needed to use DCWV papers.

This week's prize is $100.00 worth of DCWV products.

All of my papers except for the sentiment and the top scalloped circle are from DCWV's Slower Shower Spring Stack.

I cut the scalloped circles with Spellbinder's Nestabilities scalloped circle dies. The bunny stamp is from my stash as well as the sentiment which was printed on vellum and backed with a piece of cream cardstock, I found both in my stash pile.

I used foam pads to adhere the scalloped circles and sentiment and an Action Wobble under the bunny layer.

I had so much fun with my DCWV papers that I made 2 projects this week. It was cold here in Arizona when I started working on this and I wanted to feel warm so I went with a summer theme for my first project.

Double scrapbook page

Side Step Card

Every single piece of paper is from one of my DCWV stacks or another.

The scrapbook papers are all from my La Boutique Vintage Stack. I actually won this Stack online. Do you ever get emails from DCWV asking you to take part in their survey and you might win a Stack? If you do, there really IS a chance to win a prize.

My bling is from Zva Creative and my pictures are from this year's Mohave County Fair. I decided that the Midway pictures would be perfect for these Ferris wheel sheets.

This is my first side step card, they are very easy to make thanks to this video: Side Step Card on You Tube

For this card I used papers from:
DCWV Value Cardstock Stack which has various solid colors.
DCWV Holiday Collection The Christmas Stack Both the double sided heavy stack and the paper stack
DCWV The Mrs. Claus's Kitchen Stack
DCWV The Christmas Winter Combo Glitter Cardstock Matstack

I used a Cuttlebug die to cut out the tree then embossed it with my Delicate Dots folder then I colored the dots with a gold marker, wrapped the tree with some Tim Holtz Tinsel Twine. I cut the star with my star dies from My Creative Time.
The ornaments on the first step were fussy cut from a sheet in the Mrs. Claus's Kitchen Stack.
I stamped the trees onto a piece of glitter paper using StazOn ink then I cut them out when the ink dried.
Merry Christmas was fussy cut from a page in the paper Holiday Collection The Christmas stack and backed with a piece of gold glitter paper from the glitter stack.
I adhered everything to the card using foam pads.
I need to credit Alicia from Golden Goddess Designs  for the Side Step Card video and the Tinsel Twine.
