Sunrise Wedding

My other half's daughter is getting married in a sunrise ceremony on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean. I hope that she likes the card I designed.

I found the sunrise picture online, printed it out and made a frame using DCWV'S Mercury Glass stack. One of those things, saw the stack and had to have it even without a project and I'm glad I did, it was perfect for the frame.

It was hard to get a good picture of the card due to the brightness of the sun.

DT Day with Miss Kate's Cutables

It is my day to show off what I have created with a file from this month's sponsor, Miss Kate's Cutables.

I used the Forever Yours file to create this layout of my son's U.S. wedding (they had 2 ceremonies, one in his hometown in Michigan, one in her hometown in Japan) here is the happy couple.

This is a 12 x 12 layout, I printed the picture to be 5 x 7. I didn't resize any of the elements, I just cut them out without editing them in any way. I added some bling just because I love bling and like the way it looked. It is hard to see the tiny flowers on the paper I used to cut the flowers out of but I used paper the kids had brought me from Japan. The colors I used for this layout were colors that Miki had requested for the wedding decorations, flowers, etc.

Connie Can Crop - Sketch Challenge

It is time for a Sketch Challenge over at Connie Can Crop. We had this sketch to work with:

We are being sponsored by:

The winner gets 3 files from Miss Kate Designs.

I made 2 cards for this challenge:

They are exactly the same except for the colors. I made the colored version using scraps from a wedding scrapbook I just finished. The black and white version is scraps from the wedding scrapbook I had made for my niece. I used the, "Wedding Words" file from Miss Kate Designs. I resized the heart to measure 2" high and, "wedding" is 3/4" high. I cut the hearts out twice for each card so that I could mix up the colors.

Both cards measure: 4 1/2" wide x 6 1/4" high. The 3 strips are 1" wide x 4" tall.

The scalloped piece was created with a border punch from Martha Stewart.

My project is a bit of a tongue in cheek long time family thing. To make a short story shorter, one day when my son was napping I made a stuffed skunk and when he woke up, he grabbed it and named him, "Mr. Skunk"  and they were BFF's until David grew up. All I could think of while I was cutting the black and white skunk was the song, "Puttin' on the Ritz" so............I decided to go with pictures of my son and I putting each other's flowers on for his US wedding. I found a ceramic skunk ring bearer, if you look close you can see it behind the glass.

I won and more!!!

A couple weeks ago I participated in a challenge over at Golden Goddess Designs and I won. My prize arrived yesterday and I was so surprised at the wonderful extras Alicia had added to the package, she even sent me some earrings that she made, I am planning of wearing them for my wedding.

Here is my prize package:

I hope that you can see the beautiful earrings in front of the spool of twine, they are suns and have beautiful amber stones. Alicia made sure to send a pair that I won't have any allergic reaction to, thank you again Alicia. The wedding stickers and foam stickers in are also extras and Alicia included a very nice card thanking me for my participation in her challenge.

I have been also been busy with making myself a new top in my fav color for the wedding:

Nothing fancy, just a new top in my fav color that is cool enough to wear in the Arizona heat, it is 97 right now, too hot to be going outside. I haven't done much sewing for the past several eons, it was kind of nice to be sitting at my machines again. You notice that I said, "kind of" I used to LOVE sewing and would spend hours sitting at my machine, now it's ok but no longer a passion. I really SHOULD sew up some of the fabric I have, I do need some new clothes.

I also designed and made some wedding announcements that I can mail to family and friends after we tie the knot, all I have left to do on them is print the insides and add the ribbon.

Next on my agenda is to see if I can make a decent paper bouquet to carry down the aisle or at least hold onto, I don't know if there will be an actual aisle or what yet.
