Happy Birthday Rachael

My granddaughter's birthday is right around the corner. Of course I'm having a senior moment here, will she be 23 or 24? 

Her favorite colors are coral and teal, I picked up DCWV's Coral Couture stack just for Rachael.

I used my Happy Jig for the wire, "Happy". The stamps are from Fun Stamper's Journey and the butterfly is from Hero Arts.

I really enjoy making these cards in a box, they are so easy and cute.

The papers are from an old DCWV stack that I have had the stack for so long that I have forgotten how long I've had it. Since at least 2011 would be my best guess.

The white felt flowers and pearls are from Queen and Co. I have had them since 2012.

The brads I used for the flower centers have also been around a very long time.

The butterflies are a die and embossing folders from Cuttlebug, they have been in my stash since about 2010, maybe a little longer. The stamp and die for the smaller butterflies is a newer item, it's from Hero Arts that I picked up on one of our trips to Las Vegas to do some shopping sometime last year.

Butterflies

This is my first easel card. It was a whole lot easier once the block in my brain was able to make a connection about how to fold and attach the easel panel.

 After seeing the Butterfly Challenge for this month I went with 3 shades of olive for the card and an oval die cut for my stamp.

 

The tiny olive butterflies are negatives from the cut shown below. Somehow or other I managed to lose 1 of them going between the craft and living rooms and being so small it was impossible to find in the carpet.

The card folds flat for mailing.

I used colored pencils to color the image. The bigger butterflies are cut from papers my kids sent me from Japan. I cut the ovals using Cricut Craft Room Basics and the butterfly panel with the sentiment is from Ribbons and Rosettes.

Tri-Fold Card & Tags

April showers bring May flowers making this file perfect to use for anything, "April", "showers" and/or, "butterflies".
 

 

You get 2 different size tags in 3 different designs for a total of 6 tags and you can print as many as you need. You can find this file here: Ewe-N-Me Printables.

 

The large tags are laid out on the page right next to each other making it a perfect Tri-Fold Card cut.

 

 

 After cutting the large tags out as one piece I scored the dividing lines to form the Tri-Fold then I added some stickles, "rain drops" on the umbrella, sequins to the little butterfly and some Glossy Accents to the rain drops underneath the umbrella. I also added Glossy Accents to the two other sides of the fold.
 

 
I added a die cut butterfly, sentiment and butterfly stamp to the inside.
 
On the small tags I added some Glossy Accents and some twine.

Blog Quick Qoutes - Challenge #51

This month's Blog Quick Quotes Challenge is to add a flower or butterfly to your project. I decided on butterflies.

Mother's Day Cards

Mother's Day will be here before we know it, these pretty bookmarks make great Mother's Day cards.

 

 

You get 4 bookmarks total, 2 of each design. These are very easy to work with, all you need to do is cut them out. I also cut a piece of chipboard and layered mine up, I used all of the bookmarks, putting 1 on the bottom, chipboard than the 2nd bookmark (Lilac on Lilac and Lavender on Lavender) on top.

 

 

After layering them up I punched the holes in the top and added a piece of twine. I used my paper crimper on the card face and a Cuttlebug embossing folder (butterflies) with some Core'dinations paper, I sanded some of the embossing along the butterflies, "trails".

 

I also added a small wood butterfly to each bookmark and a jewel to the center of the butterflies. Sequins and pearls on the opening edge and used my only Mother's Day stamp on the sentiment.
