HIMCR #215 - Favorite Team Colors

HIMCR # 215 - Favorite Team Colors

The sponsor is Pickled Potpourri!

The giveaway is a $7 Gift Certificate to Pickled Potpourri!

I am not a football fan, but I LOVE hockey and my favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings who's colors are: red & white at home, white & red away from home with a bit of black thrown in.

The images are all from Pickled Potpourri's, "Under the Sea" set of digi stamps.

The underwater scene is gelato's on watercolor paper with a bit of glitter paint on the sandy part and starfish. It is hard to see the glitter paint but it is there.

After coloring the background, (I won't lie, this is my second background the first one was not the correct size for the box because I didn't plan this out very well, I didn't decided on the shadow box idea until after I had completed the first background), I trimmed it a bit to fit the box.

The box is from the Silhouette store and cut with my Cameo, there were other pieces for the original shadow box but all I really wanted was the box so the other pieces were deleted.

I also decided that it needed a window, with all of the dust in the air in Arizona I didn't want to leave it open. I stamped 2 dolphins on the clear acetate I used for the window, colored and fussy cut all of the fish, plants, lobster, etc. and added some black enamel for the eyes. I adhered them to the background with foam squares.

I used white to cut the box out with then added some red Bazzill Basics and a piece of black and white ribbon around the sides and some enamel dots to the top.

Dedicated to Kare, my tea time friend

The other day I ran across this challenge and just had to play along since my very favorite thing to do is sharing afternoon tea with my friend Kare. This is one of the very few things I miss about living in Michigan.

Recipe:

Cardstock - mine is from DCWV's Flower Shower Spring Stack
Cricut's Disney Classics cartridge - these icons are on the, "Mouse" key
Sequins, pearls
Chipboard - mine is an old cereal box
Clear Acetate
Foam Pads
Ribbon, flower, flower jewels, jewels
Heavy Duty Adhesive

I cut the design directly onto my card face, then cut the tea cups from scraps I have. Cut the chipboard to fit around the stacking cups, glue layers together and adhere to front of card using a very strong adhesive. After the layers have dried, add some sequins, beads, etc. to your shaker then adhere the clear adhesive to the top of the stack, layer piece with cutout onto the clear acetate using very strong adhesive. I also used some foam squares to help support it.
I added a flower and, "tea time" sentiment using items from my stash. I adhered them with foam pads.
