Kingman Center for the Arts

A while back we went to a local yearly arts and craft sale. The first booth we came to was selling 6 x 6 canvases to help raise funds for the Kingman Center for the Arts. The idea is to take the canvas home, create something on it and return it to be sold at an upcoming art show that will help fund the new art center.

The subject matter for the canvas is Route 66, Kingman, AZ is a part of the longest remaining stretch of Route 66 and the town depends on tourist dollars to survive.

After having several ideas running through my mind, here is what I came up with after going to see, "Cars" 3, what is more Route 66 than the, "Cars" movies?

The pic is a bit crooked but I am just too lazy to take another one.

After painting the canvas a very light blue I put on a coat of silver Craft Twinkles (hard to see in the pic) and used my Cricut Cars cartridge to cut the Cars logo and the Route 66 sign. The, "Kingman, AZ" was cut using Street Signs.

  1. How fun! You'll have to update us on how much it gets at auction!
