Penguin/Cactus Christmas Card

I had a bit of free time yesterday and I wanted to make something totally different for Christmas. So I used my Cricut to cut a cactus with the Southwest cartridge and went to work. I had planned on embossing the red layer but you know how that goes, it was already on the card before I remembered. With this weather (low 60's and sunny) it is kind of hard to think of Christmas being right around the corner.

These penguins have been in my stash for a long time, they are charms. I took the rings off of the tops and used brads to attach them to the cactus.

I am entering this card into this challenge:

Time for ANOTHER Tea Party

Hi and welcome to my, "Winter Tea Party 1". Santa brought me a bag of my favorite tea, Irish Breakfast Tea, loose leaf tea that has a very BOLD flavor so I decided that it is time for another tea party. I just love all of Deena's printable tea bag envelopes over at Ewe-N-Me Printables .

You get 2 Tea Bag Envelopes on the sheet and you can print as many as you need to. Aren't the penguins adorable?

I DID make some cranberry/pecan scones to go along with my pretty tea cup and pot (the tea pot is from my tea time pal in Michigan, Kare...we had many wonderful teas together). HOWEVER...living at 3,400 feet has a tendency to mess with my baked goods and the poor scones fell flatter than a pancake.

I embossed the card base with my snowflake embossing folder and I used a dotted folder for the off white layer.

I like to include a little menu and sample of one of the teas that I will be serving.

The tea sample goes inside the envelope.

These are very quick and easy to make, all you do is cut out the envelopes, fold on the lines and add a bit of glue or double sided tape and the envelope is finished.
