Back in the craft room

Between family visiting and our medical emergencies life was pretty hectic and out of control for a while but I do believe that we have finally recovered.

While we were down a friend sent us a box of goodies, homemade cherry/almond cookies and banana/chocolate chip muffins. Boy was everything ever YUMMY!!

I finally got back in the craft room yesterday and made her this card.

I added the, "Thank You to the background with my Cricut and my Foil Quill. The larger, "Thank You" was done with my Silhouette and Foil Quill. I found some tips no how to fill in the letters or icons that you use and was very happy with the results.

 I found this card in the Silhouette store.

 

The card measures 6.25" x 5" tall and folds fairly flat for mailing.

  

 

 I used Kraft paper for the card base and some scraps of yellow, blue and white for the Easter egg, sentiment and layers under the egg. I added some blue jewels to the edges.

The, "happy Easter" is a Cricut cut from the Easter 2010 cartridge.

The card base measures 6.25" wide x 5.5" tall and folds flat for mailing.

PDE Linky Party 3-18-16

Hi, it is time for another PDE Linky Party 
where all of the challenges will ALWAYS BE ANYTHING GOES. You know what that means?!

If you....made it, stamped it, die cut it, paper pieced it, scrapbooked it, refurbished it, restored it, remodeled it, crocheted it, quilted it, sewed it, painted it.....it all counts! And you have unlimited entries.

 

 

I decided to play with a wood birdhouse I picked up at Jo Ann's a while back. Here it is with a couple of coats of gesso on it and my color choices. I went with the coral on the bottom.

 

 

When I finished the painting I moved on to the roof.  I started with a scalloped stencil I received from my BFF Renee over at: Plum Purdy

With Silhouette's software it is very easy to replicate the item you are working with so I only had to come up with 1 scallop. I put it on a piece of Rhoida dot paper, scanned it and brought the scanned image into my Silhouette software. I ran the pieces through my eBosser using my Delicate Dots embossing folder. Then I proceeded to shingle my roof.

 

The birds are cut from vinyl and the grass is cardstock from my stash.

Here is my first project for Silhouette Challenges

 

 The challenges are always Anything Goes.

I'm still learning about my Silhouette Cameo and I'm having fun doing it.

Did you know that you can make up your own designs and cut them with the Cameo?

I started out with my Rhodia Dot Pad and came up with this drawing.

 

As you can see it is a very simple drawing, after drawing it out I scanned the drawing and imported it into my Cameo software.

 

 

I did a copy and paste to make 5 flowers then I cut the 5 stems the same way.

 

I used the software's erase feature to remove the lines in my drawing on the stems.

 

Some circles for the flower centers and I was all set.

 

I had to cut an additional flower because I stated with 5 but ended up needing 6.

 

 

After looking it for a couple of days I decided that I needed to add a sun. I didn't take pictures of the process but I did stamp the sun onto a piece of the Rhodia Dot Pad, scanned it and took it into my Cameo software and cut it out.

 

All images were cut onto vinyl.
