Creative Blog Hop

I would like to thank my good friend, the very talented and artistic Alicia from (www.goldengoddessdesigns.blogspot.com) for nominating me for this Creative Blog Hop. I met Alicia on a blog hop a few months back. At the time Alicia was having a 2 year blogiversary giveaway that I won. We have been following each other ever since then, Alicia is a very faithful follower and I love her work.

1. What am I working on? My project for next week's Hiding In My Craft Room design team so I can't give you a peek, it has to stay under wraps until it's posted on 9-6.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre? I think my work is unique and is a good reflection of me, I have always been one to follow the beat of a different drummer and I tend to do my own thing, not what everyone else is doing.

3. Why do I write/create what I do? Started scrapping back in 2006 after my Dad passed away. My sister and I had a stupid argument over family pictures and I wanted to make sure my own kids didn't run into that problem when my time comes so I made each of them their own scrapbooks. I swore that I would never make another one but you should see my craft room now, I spend all of my time in here playing with my crafting. It really helps to keep me focused and helps me to moviate myself to not sit around doing nothing all day long. I enjoy playing with the various items we are given to create with on the DT and I LOVE winning challanges and blog hops. I have made several projects for my son and daughter in law who live in Tokyo, I feel a little closer to them when I'm working on something for them. They send me some awesome crafting toys and enjoy seeing what I create with them.

4. How does your writing/creating process work? For most of my work I usually see a finished project in my head that I like, I start by coloring the digi or image (if one is being used) then I start picking out papers and other elements. At times this method comes to a screaching halt if I don't have the right color papers. So I will pick what colors I want to work with and color the image again. Then I start going through my other elements and through trial and error I assemble the final project.
Occasionally I will draw out an idea on paper and start from there. Sometimes I use Cricut Craft Room to design and cut my projects but seem to have gotten away from that recently when my desktop computer died, I find myself doing more and more things by hand now.
All of my online crafting pals are so busy with getting kids back to school, work , etc. that I haven't been able to find anyone to follow me. Please feel free to pick this up and continue it on your own.

  1. thanks so much for participating Sue! I hear ya on the creating hitting a road block because you don't have the right color paper! then I go searching...all the stores I know and still don't find anything! Last fall when I was making my wedding invites, I could not find this artic gold paper at all, I purchased as much as I could find that was a close match and continued on but frustrated that not every invite was perfect...then wouldn't you know I found the a 25 pack of the paper I needed for $1.99 at Tuesday Morning just last week!!!!!! I paid up to $1 per sheet for that paper and was desperate for more and now I have enough to do all those invites again! Crazy how that happens! Thanks again for participating!!

  2. It was great getting to know you a bit better. Being a serious scrapper myself, our scrapbooks with family memories are the most precious gifts we will leave behind one day.
