I didn't double check this week's challenge.....so I don't have all of the layers that the other girls do. This is an anniversary card for my son and his wife.

 

The pink background paper is core'dinations.

 The pink print paper was given to me by my son and his wife who live in Tokyo, the stickers are also from the kids. All of the stickers except for the flowers and dots are a set of Japanese wedding stickers.

I added the Imaginisce jewels and printed both of the sentiments with my printer. 

Unity Be Inspired Challenge: May 14 - June 10

There are a few different avenues to follow for your project for this challenge, I decided to go with the color challenge.

 

I started with a 5 x 7 card base to which I adhered a piece of Core Impressions from Core'dinations. This is the type of paper that you can tear, sand or use it as is, it is also embossed. You can't see it from this picture but I did sand the paper. This close up of the embossing and sanding shows the sanding on the embossed ridges.

 

The stamped panel is an itty Bitty stamp from Unity: WIB - 858 Smile in Your Heart. I won this a couple of weeks ago from a Funday Friday giveaway.

 

Before stamping the image onto watercolor paper, first I colored the paper with a watercolor dot that I received when I placed an order for a different Unity stamp a few weeks ago, they always put a little something extra into your order.

 

When the watercolor had dried I stamped the image with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - chipped sapphire then I did a die cut using a Spellbinder's Nestabilities set I won thanks to Alicia at Golden Goddess Designs, Spellbinders and facebook. I also embossed the die cut.

 

I added some washi tape that my son and his fabulous/wonderful wife  sent me from Japan (they live in Tokyo), some bling from Zva Creative and a few pearls and Queen and Co. Goosebumps from my stash.

Mother's Day is on it's way and I have more cards than I can use for the occasion including this cutie.

The image is from The Paper Shelter, you can get it colored or uncolored. I choose the colored one.

 

The embossed background was done using the Cuttlebug, "Thank You" All in One set. This is something that Provo Craft put out a few years ago but I never used it because when I purchased it I was unaware that I also needed the folder, which is yet another product. I finally got the folder and I really liked the way the embossing plate went with the image.

 

 

I used a piece of teal Core'dinations paper for the embossing then I did a light sanding on the raised areas. I have found that using a piece of sandpaper works better than any of the gadgets on the market.

 

I added a piece of yellow ribbon to the bottom of the embossed piece and layered it onto a piece of yellow Core'dinations paper (thank you Renee).

 

The sentiment is a stamp from my stash, I used a teal ink and stamped it onto a piece of vellum which I mounted onto a scrap of the yellow I used for the card.

 

I mounted the image on to an Action Wobble just for fun.

Due to some printer issues I don't have an image from A Day for Daisies to work with so I went freestyle.

 

 I made this for my girlfriend Renee, she sent me a big box of paper crafting goodies, I thought that I was dreaming there were so many wonderful items in the box. I should have taken a picture of it but was so stunned by my wonderful surprise. Most of this card was made with items from Renee.

 

 I decided on an accordion card, this is 11" wide x 5 1/2" tall.
