I was coloring this image last night when my granddaughter called to tell me that she had been in a horrid accident. Thank goodness that she only suffered an injury to her arm, I think it is a burn from the airbag going off. Not pretty to look at, neither is her car it is totaled. She did learn a valuable lesson, don't drive with bald tires especially in the rain, it is just too bad that it took her spinning out, flying through the air and rolling over before she learned.

 

Anyhow....back to the project. I used one of the current freebies being offered by A Day For Daisies and colored it with chalks. Then I cut out a shadow box with my Cameo, added some sequins where the fireflies are flying and a computer generated sentiment. After assembling the box I added some ribbon to two corners and a 5" x 5" card base.

 

I used sequins, micro beads, mini beads and clear heart confetti for the shaker element.

I really haven't had much of a chance to use blue in my crafting until recently and now I seem to be on a roll with it. It is my favorite color so someone might have to come by and push my, "reset" button to get me to use a different color.

Every piece of paper I used is a scrap but my scrap pile isn't any smaller.

 

I didn't color the butterfly but I did change the outline color to blue then I added some blue pearls from my stash. I used a Spellbinder's die to cut the image out and backed it with a scrap of blue (flip side of the outside paper). I added a few sequins and adhered it with foam pads.

 

The sentiment is from my stamp stash, I wanted to use blue ink on it but the brand I have wouldn't dry on the vellum so I used my black StazOn ink.

 

After chomping the corners I added some blue Imaginisce jewels.

This year we've decided to change our weekly challenge line up. This year every fourth week is going to be Any Holiday! Perfect for those of us that need to work on Christmas cards through out the year or perfect for those of us that need to scrapbook old pictures from ANY HOLIDAY!!!

I made 2 cards this week, I used some of my Japanese crafting supplies that my kids in Tokyo sent me.

 

I added the background hearts to my paper via my eBrush and a heart stencil that I made.
The papers behind the cupcake images are crafting papers from Japan. The ribbons and butterflies are from my stash, I colored the wooden butterflies with my eBrush. I used my Spellbinders scalloped circle dies to cut the circles, I used the biggest die on the solid papers, the next size down for the Japanese papers. I also added an Action Wobble to the, "Love Tart" because Miki loves the way they wobble.

 

 

 After I colored the images I used some Fantastic Glaze & Glue to add a little dimension to the, "frosting" and sprinkled the pink one with pink Tinsel Glitter and white glitter on the blue one. The pinkish color on the blue one is from an attempt to just color the, "frosting" but I didn't like the result.

Cardstock - I managed to use all scraps for mine. The red and white was printed with my Imagine, the green and white came from a DCWV stack and the foil was from a foil stack.

Ribbon

Spellbinder's circle and scalloped circle die sets

Imaginisce jewels

Yellow flocking

I colored the image then cut it out using my Spellbinder's circle dies. The "frame" around the image was cut with my Spellbinder's scalloped circle dies, putting a smaller one inside the bigger one.  

I used the embossing folder on the green paper.

I printed the sentiment with my printer and layered it onto a piece of the foil paper scrap.

I used some yellow flocking for the poinsettia centers.

Cardstock (mine was all scraps, including the card base)

Corner Chomper

Zva Creative Bling - CRB-04CB-113

Colored pencils

Foam pads

3" Xyron sticker maker

Pearls

 

Print and color image, fussy cut then run through the Xyron sticker maker and adhere to a piece of Kraft paper. Do another fussy cut. Card measures 5.25" wide x 6.5" high when folded. Chomp the corners, add your ribbon, bling and image, use foam pads for the image. I used my printer to print the sentiment on vellum, layered it onto a piece of cream cardstock then onto a piece of Kraft and added some pearls and attached to card with foam pads.
