Expanding Valentine Album Box

My other half has been gone since yesterday morning and it gave me a chance to recharge my creativity.

I had a lot of fun plotting out and assembling this, it is a small album celebrating my son and his wife's two weddings. The first one was in David's hometown of Garden City, MI (about 6 months before we packed up and headed west), the second was in Miki's hometown of Kanazawa, Japan. There are many differences in the two cultures when it comes to weddings.

I wanted to use some of the papers the kids brought me from Japan when they came to visit our new home in March of 2013 but these papers measure just under 6x6 and they aren't like US paper and the Cricut isn't very good at cutting them, the designs have to be very simple so I used the Japanese papers for all of the small hearts, inside and outside of the box.

Cartridges used:
Mini Albums - Album 1, all layers
Flower Shoppe - Heart flower, all layers
Doodlecharms - Heart border
Cricut Craft Room Basics - Heart shift

I am entering this project into 1 challange:

Now I need to clean up my mess and hopefully come up with a few more crafty ideas. I'm not planning on making any dinner, I don't know when my, "roomie" will be home. I think that I might spend a bit of time catching up on the Olympics, I DVR'D quite a few events overnight.

  1. What a thoughtful and beautiful album. I love all of your die cuts. I always forget to go back to some of my font cartridges for the borders and shapes. I love the heart border. Thanks for joining FCCB this week.
