I made two projects, this first one is a card for my granddaughter.

I used Cricut's Pagoda cartridge to cut the doll, the flowered paper was a gift from my son and his wife who live in Tokyo.

They had 2 wedding, a semi traditional US wedding in David's hometown then a real traditional Japanese wedding in Miki's hometown which is where they met at work. This layout is from their Japanese ceremony.

The papers are from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa collection. The kids are both wearing traditional Japanese wedding kimonos. The heart is done with origami, it was very easy to do, here is the link:  You Tube Origami heart video

I made the, "Love" with the heart on the end with my We R Memory Keepers Happy Jig.

The hearts are a die cut from a really old set I have and I can't remember who they are from.

Connie Can Crop's Last Challenge - I'm So Fancy

This is the last challenge over at Connie Can Crop and it is a fun one, "I'm so Fancy". You need to use either a fancy fold or a 3D card.

Our sponsor this month is Craftin Desert Divas. They have some really great items in their shop.

I choose their, "Christmas Eve" Digi Stamp file to play with, I thought it would work well for a Card in a Box, one of my favorite cards to make.

 

 

 

This file comes with pre-colored images as well as images you can color yourself. Since I needed so many in various sizes I decided to use the pre-colored images. I printed each one a few different times before coming up with the correct sizes.

 

I printed them onto 110 lb. cardstock because it is nice and heavy and it won't curl up like thinner stock will over time. This card is for my granddaughter and she saves every card I send her so I wanted to make sure that it will look as good next Christmas as it does this year.

 

The card base paper is from Craft Smith, you really can't see it very well under the other layers.

 

I added some Glossy Accent to the white of Santa's hat. I used some pearls to give the tree decorations some dimension as well as to the wreath then some jewels on the corners of the other images on the card.

 

This will be Connie's last challenge so let's make it a great one with tons of entries.

DT Day with Bugaboo Stamps

Today is my day to show off what I have made with my image from this month's sponsor: Bugaboo Stamps over at Connie Can Crop.

I choose this cute little squirrel to work with and I decided to stick to this month's color pallet.

I used chalks to color him then I added a bit of Glazed Dimensions to the hearts and little highlight areas of the acorns. I used Wild Honey Distress Oxide on the edges.

 

The card measures 5.5" wide x 4.25" tall. I added a piece of fall themed washi tape, a bit of twine and a few pearls to finish the card off.

Connie Can Crop - To Die For Challenge

This month's challenge theme over at Connie Can Crop is Halloween themed: To Die For. You need to use some type of die cut in your project, either electronic or manual.

I choose the Holiday Hauntings SVG Bundle to work with this month, there are 4 different SVG's in the file to work with, all 3 of my projects this month will be made using different files from the bundle.

 

The first item I made was the Cat's Meow Lantern.

It's time to get schooled!

 

I wanted to use my new cactus washi tape so I made the teacher a cactus card.

 

 

 All of the papers I used are scraps even the card base.

 

I cut the cactus with Cricut's Southwest cartridge. I used fuchsia Stickles to make the, "flowers".

 

I used alphabet stickers to add, "Teacher" which I got from Connie's Crafty Cart.

 I started with a picture of Lake Huron and the lighthouse in Tawas City, MI. Before I started I added a bit of color to my white paper with my eBrush.

 

There are waves in the picture of the lake, I added a "wave" on the bottom of the page using this here thing-a-ma-gig.

Connie Can Crop - Watercolor Challenge

This month's challenge over at Connie Can Crop is Watercolors. You need to use watercolor somewhere on your project.

This month's sponsor is Paper Nest Dolls.

 

 

 

 

I used watercolor paper because it doesn't curl up as much as regular paper does when you get it wet and it is very heavy duty. First I used 3 different shades of blue watercolor paint on the background. When it was dry I used StazOn to ink the background.

 

I also colored a scrap of watercolor paper with yellow, pink and green paint then stamped the image directly on top of it.

 

I used blue cardstock for my base.

DT Day at Connie Can Crop - with Bugagoo Stamps

Today is my DT Day at Connie Can Crop. I had this really cute sunflower digi stamp from BugabooStamps to play with.

  

 



Once again I did my best to follow this month's challenge theme of Use Your Stash.

 

 

The colored pencils I used to color my image have been hanging around since 2011 or 2012. I also used a Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage CD to print the flowered paper on the back of the bookmark.

The stamps I used on the back for the sentiment are from Inky Antics, I have had them since 2012. The flower stamp is from Hero Arts and a new item to my stash but they were on clearance so they have been in stock at the store where I bought them for a really long time.

I also added some Stickles to the flower centers and I have had them since 2010.

I really enjoy making these cards in a box, they are so easy and cute.

The papers are from an old DCWV stack that I have had the stack for so long that I have forgotten how long I've had it. Since at least 2011 would be my best guess.

The white felt flowers and pearls are from Queen and Co. I have had them since 2012.

The brads I used for the flower centers have also been around a very long time.

The butterflies are a die and embossing folders from Cuttlebug, they have been in my stash since about 2010, maybe a little longer. The stamp and die for the smaller butterflies is a newer item, it's from Hero Arts that I picked up on one of our trips to Las Vegas to do some shopping sometime last year.
