Upcycled - Repurposed

The other day I emptied the little bucket that my dishwasher detergent pods come in and decided to try to upcycle it.

I have been trying to find a better way to store my ink refills that looked better than this:

Can you see the little buggers sticking their heads out of the drawer?

The labels on the container are printed directly onto the plastic bucket and the only way to remove the handle is to cut it off and have no handle so I decided to work around the handle by incorporating the color of the handle in my paint and ribbon. I was able to fit more than just my ink refills in, a couple of stamp sets that I was having trouble fitting in anywhere as well as a couple of small cans of spray paint.

I started by giving the bucket surface a coat of Paint Adhesion Medium. Then I sponged two different browns, orange and yellow paints onto the bucket. The green dots were added using a Q-tip. After coating with 2 coats of Mod Podge, I cut the lettering out of vinyl with my Cricut and the Cricut Font and Basic Shapes cartridge. First I went around the outside with a brown Cricut pen then I cut the letters out.

My bucket is now full and a once messy corner of my craft room is a bit neater thanks to this little bucket.

Why did I put the orange rick rack over my green ribbon? Because I didn't have a wide enough ribbon of any color so I ran the green around the top twice and used the rick rack to cover the seam. I used some hemp rope around the upper edge.

I am entering this project into this challenge:
